O Figueirense se recuperou das duas derrotas consecutivas e venceu por 2 a 1 o Brasil de Pelotas, na noite desta sexta-feira. Com gols de Robinho e Henan, a equipe de Florianópolis respirou e saiu da zona de rebaixamento. O time de Marcelo Cabo ocupa a 16° posição, com 15 pontos. O gol marcado por Marcinho não evitou a derrota do Xavante, que caiu para 12° lugar, com 17 pontos.

Brasil de Pelotas e Figueirense vieram para o jogo em situações diferentes na tabela. O Xavante ocupava a décima primeira posição e queria a vitória para se aproximar do G4. Já o Figueira estava dentro da zona de rebaixamento e precisava urgentemente de um bom resultado para dar uma resposta ao seu torcedor.

Depois de passe errado de Rafinha, Robinho arrancou desde o campo defensivo, invadiu a área e acertertou um lindo chute para abrir o placar no Bento Freitas. O empate do brasil veio aos 25, depois que Marcinho aproveitou bate rebate dentro da área. Mas não deu tempo de comemorar. Dois minutos depois Henan recebeu lateral na área do Brasil, girou e bateu forte para colocar o Figueira na frente de novo até o intervalo.

Na segunda etapa o Brasil foi para cima. O figueirense se fechou e tentava sair rápido com Robinho. A expulsão de Leandro Almeida aos 16 minutos colocou a equipe de Florianópolis em uma situação desconfortável. O time se fechou ainda mais, não dando nenhum espaço para o Brasil chegar ao gol de empate até o final da partida. Com o resultado, o Figueira saiu momentaneamente da zona da degola. Foi à 16° posição, com 15 pontos. O Brasil de Pelotas caiu para 12°, com 17.

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has provided another update on his injury recovery via Instagram.

Elliott underwent successful surgery last month and now more news has emerged on his road back to fitness, as he was pictured riding an exercise bike at the AXA Training Centre and captioned the image ‘step by step, day by day’.

The 18-year-old suffered a fracture dislocation of the left joint in Liverpool’s win at Leeds United last month.

The club have said that they expect Elliott to feature again this season, but haven’t placed a more specific timescale on his return.

Elliott had started three consecutive Premier League games prior to his injury, having forced his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans on the back of his loan spell at Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

Who else is missing at the moment?

Liverpool currently have two other players out injured with relatively minor issues.

Thiago Alcantara has missed the last four matches with a calf issue, while a groin problem sidelined Trent Alexander-Arnold against FC Porto and Manchester City.

The hope is that both players will be back in action after the international break.

في حديثه في أول مؤتمر صحفي له قبل المباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز هذا الموسم، أكد بريندان رودجرز، مدرب ليستر سيتي، إصابة البرتغالي وذكر مدى إهدار الفريق.

وقال مدرب ليستر سيتي: “للأسف، سيغيب ريكاردو بيريرا لما يصل إلى ستة أشهر، لقد أصيب بتمزق في وتر العرقوب، وهو أمر مؤسف للغاية لأن الكثير من فكرة لعبتنا خلال الصيف كانت تدور حول الظهير وحوله على وجه الخصوص”.

He may be a striker but there’s a belief among those close to West Ham that young academy gem Sonny Perkins could well become the club’s next Declan Rice.

That’s certainly one claim from Irons insider ExWHUemployee, who made the exciting declaration on a recent episode of his ‘The West Ham Way’ podcast.

He said: “One thing to also pay attention to is a West Ham youngster called Sonny Perkins. He was on target for the England U18s on Monday as they beat Russia.

“This is someone I’ve spoken about on the podcast before as a talent, and he’s really beginning to stand out now at academy level, really getting rave reviews.

“Obviously performing on the international stage as well for his age, and he is one to keep an eye on.

“From what I’ve heard in the academy circles, he could be the next Declan Rice. So just keep your eye out for his progression within the next few years.”

Aged just 17, the Hammers prospect recently broke into the club’s under-23 squad, despite only being a second year scholar, whilst he made he debut for the England under-18s just last month.

That speaks volumes on not just his potential but his current ability. Clearly he’s performing way above his current age, so that’s exactly why he’s being touted as another Rice, who broke into the first team as a teenager himself.

Perkins has been in fine form for West Ham’s youth teams this season, scoring five times in nine appearances across the Under-18 Premier League, the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, and that includes an impressive hat-trick against Reading at the start of the new campaign.

Meanwhile, according to The Athletic, there is plenty of optimism over West Ham’s current academy set-up, and it is something in which first-team manager David Moyes has taken a keen interest.

He and his backroom staff regularly attend games, so it’s surely a matter of time before Perkins catches his eye, if he hasn’t already.

Given the Hammers’ need for striking reinforcements, a player of the teenager’s calibre could well help save the club millions in future transfer windows.

If you’ve got the ability, then it doesn’t matter what age you are, and the likes of Rice and Ben Johnson have been testament to that.

The Titans were officially crowned SuperSport Series Champions for the 2008-09 season during the tea break on day three, and their match against the Lions ended in a draw a day later in Johannesburg. Their nearest challengers, the Eagles, didn’t manage to pick up the necessary points needed to usurp the Titans, even though they beat the Dolphins by eight wickets with more than two days to spare.By stumps on day three the Lions led by 251 with eight wickets in hand, and on the fourth morning Alviro Petersen smacked his second century of the game before the Lions declared on 167 for 2 in 38 overs. With the title already settled, the Titans went about their stiff target of 333 in 76 at a brisk clip, led by Jacques Rudolph. Despite the loss of the openers Heino Kuhn (27) and Blake Snijman (15) to Freidel de Wet and later Gulam Bodi for 5, Rudolph ticked away undaunted. He found good support from Francois du Plessis but the target was always out of reach. Rudolph finished on 124 from 146 balls and du Plessis 65 from 77.Winning the toss, the Lions racked up a formidable 526 for 9 with Petersen hitting 129 and Dane Vilas 203 off 295 balls. They then reduced the Titans to 126 for 4 on by stumps on day two but Farhaan Behardien’s 114 off 172 balls enabled the Titans avoid the follow-on. He added two quick wickets in the second innings too.The Warriors beat the Cobras with more than a day to spare in East London, there by tightening their hold on the No. 3 spot. Darryl Brown and Zander de Bruyn shared eight wickets to dismiss the Cobras for a paltry 74 in their second innings – far worse than the 124 put up in the first dig – and seal a whopping 236-run win. The Warriors were bowled out for 197 in their second innings with Davy Jacobs scoring 101 off 153 balls. That left the Cobras an unlikely 311 to win, and Brown and de Bruyn took four wickets each. Earlier, having been put into bat, the Cobras had done well to keep the Warriors to 237 thanks to seven wickets from Claude Henderson. But five from Andrew Birch then gave the Warriors a 113-run lead. It proved a handy lead.

TITE DE OLHO NO MEIA DO FLAMENGO

Everton Ribeiro voltou ao Brasil pensando no retorno à Seleção Brasileira, de olho na Copa do Mundo de 2018. Nesta última convocação, o técnico Tite garantiu que está de olho no canhotinho do Flamengo. Ou seja, o primeiro passo para voltar a vestir a Amarelinha já foi dado.

Outro que está sendo observado pelo treinador da Seleção Brasileiro é o meia Diego. Tite vem assistindo a alguns jogos do Flamengo in loco e pode dar oportunidades aos jogadores rubro-negros em breve.

NOVA OPORTUNIDADE NO DOMINGO

Como Diego está suspenso no jogo do próximo domingo, contra o Atlético-MG, Everton Ribeiro terá novamente a função de comandar o meio campo do Flamengo. A partida será realizada no Independência e é válida pela primeira rodada do returno do Campeonato Brasileiro.

O meia Everton também desfalca o Flamengo contra o Galo. A tendência é que Berrío entre no time na ponta direita, e Geuvânio seja deslocado para a esquerda. O jovem Vinicius Júnior é outra opção.
