يذكر، أن مجلس إدارة النادي الأهلي برئاسة محمود الخطيب قد استقر خلال الفترة الماضية على تعيين الإسباني دانيال جوردو، مديرًا فنيًّا للفريق الأول لكرة اليد رجال لمدة عامين.

After the farcical scenes which emerged during Brazil’s clash with Argentina last weekend, Leeds United were one of a number of Premier League clubs who were worrying about the ensuing fallout.

For all the world it looked like Marcelo Bielsa would be without star man Raphinha for the clash against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon after the Brazilian FA’s attempts to block the winger, and several others, from playing for their clubs.

While losing the former Rennes man would have been a bitter blow for the Whites, the latest update on the situation means Raphinha is likely to take to the field against the Reds.

But while Bielsa will no doubt start the 24-year-old, he could be tempted to unleash one of the club’s exciting youngsters in Crysencio Summerville, perhaps in the place of Jack Harrison.

Harrison has yet to score or assist in the Premier League this season despite playing the full 90 minutes in each game, while Summerville could bring the surprising X-factor that could keep Liverpool guessing.

Hailed as a “bag of tricks” by Chris Powell, his former coach when he was a teenager at Dutch side ADO Den Haag, the 19-year-old has been a revelation for Leeds’ under-23s following his move last summer.

In fact, he scored a hat-trick against Burnley on just his second start last season, while in total he bagged an impressive six goals and provided a further six assists in just 12 Premier League 2 games.

Against Guiseley during pre-season earlier this summer, it was Summerville who put in the kind of performance which will have given Bielsa some food for thought.

After watching his goalscoring display, Leeds Live’s Joe Donnohue said on Twitter: “Cody Drameh and Crysencio Summerville were great together down the right flank for Leeds’ U23s last season. Seems like more of the same this year. Drameh an excellent carrier, weightless going forward. Summerville a wriggler, impossible to handle.”

The 19-year-old is an exciting winger who can play on either flank, and with his quick feet and agility, he is very reminiscent of Leeds talisman Raphinha.

With new signing Dan James still needing to get up to speed with Bielsa’s methods and Harrison not firing yet in the top-flight, Summerville has the perfect chance to stamp his mark if Bielsa starts him today.

He could well take Liverpool by surprise and give Bielsa another exciting prospect to work with in the first-team.

أعلن خوان لابورتا، رئيس نادي برشلونة، موعد تقديم الثنائي عثمان ديمبلي ورافينها، كلاعبين جددُ مع النادي الكتالوني.

برشلونة توصل إلى اتفاق مبدئي مع ليدز يونايتد، من أجل التعاقد مع رافينها، ويتبقى فقط تخطيه الفحص الطبي للإعلان عن الصفقة، كما توصل البلوجرانا إلى اتفاق مع عثمان ديمبلي لتجديد عقده لمدة عامين حتى 2024.

وقال لابورتا في تصريحات نشرتها “سبورت” الكتالونية: “هذا الأسبوع سوف نقدم ديمبلي ورافينها للجماهير”.

وأضاف لابورتا الذي تحدث قبل تواجده في الاجتماع الأول لمجلس الإدارة للموسم الجديد 2022/23: “نحن نُحقق تقدمًا رائعًا، ونبلي بلاءً حسنًا، وسعداء بما نفعله”.

While Mark Warburton saw his Queens Park Rangers side suffer their first defeat of the Championship season in mid-week, there are nevertheless a number of reasons for the 59-year-old Rs manager to be delighted with the way things are going at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this term.

Indeed, prior to the 2-1 loss against a highly impressive AFC Bournemouth side, QPR had picked up three wins and three draws in the league, including impressive away wins at both Middlesbrough and Hull City, scoring 15 goals in the process.

However, it is undeniable that, should Warburton wish to reinforce his team’s top-six credentials to the rest of the league, the visit of a 12th placed Bristol City side is a fixture his side must be winning.

With both Charlie Austin and Moses Odubajo once again being available for selection after missing the loss against the Cherries, Warburton has plenty to consider ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Bristol City.

However, while we predict that the Rs boss will make two changes to his starting XI, neither Austin nor Odubajo come into the side.

Instead, after highly impressing in two substitute appearances at wing-back – earning a SofaScore match rating of 7.3 against Reading at left wing-back and a 7.4 match rating against Bournemouth at right wing-back – Albert Adomah comes into the side for the £540k-rated Osman Kakay, who has been extremely disappointing in the position so far this season, and particularly on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rather than Austin coming in up top, Andre Gray could be set to start his first league fixture since joining QPR on a season-long loan from Watford, with the 30-year-old having already bagged his first goal for the Rs on his debut against Reading.

Saurashtra joined in the season of improbable chases by reaching the target of 325 set by Karnataka with considerable ease to enter their second successive Ranji Trophy semi-final. Cheteshwar Pujara scored a match-winning century under pressure and was helped by contributions from Shitanshu Kotak, Ravindra Jadeja and captain Jaydev Shah.The backbone of the chase was the 163-run fourth-wicket partnership between Pujara and Kotak that dimmed and then ended Karnataka’s hopes of victory. Those hopes had flared on a spectacular catch by B Akhil, who threw himself to the right to grab Bhushan Chauhan’s outside edge off Vinay Kumar, and ebbed quietly as the Kotak-Pujara combine took centrestage.Both batsmen played enterprisingly, taking their chances rather than grafting around and waiting for the bad deliveries. Kotak prodded one past point and ran three off his first ball in the morning off Vinay and later got away with two edges that whistled past the slips and gully. Pujara took 22 balls for his first run but was soon into the groove, his first three scoring shots being fours. The first was a punch straight down the ground off Vinay, followed by a square-drive on the back foot in the bowler’s next over. He then cut NC Aiyappa, who had already been clipped past midwicket by Kotak in the same over, when the bowler pitched short and wide.Pujara, who began the season with big knocks but failed to reach a half-century in his last seven innings, brought the 50-run partnership with a handsome cover drive off Sunil Joshi – it beat the diving fielders at cover and mid-off. At the other end, Kotak brought up his fifty in style, moving quickly outside the line of a delivery from Vinay to push it to the boundary at long-on.Pujara pulled Joshi immediately in the first over post lunch to get to his half-century. Kotak, the more experienced of the two, realised the session was vital and tried to face most of the deliveries. He even stepped out to hit Joshi over mid-on for a one-bounce four.With none of their bowlers able to impose themselves, Karnataka were clutching at straws. As the pressure mounted, Robin Uthappa, the Karnataka captain, let the experienced Rahul Dravid take charge in the field, but even he could not do much apart from shining the ball, patting the bowlers and clapping. Karnataka’s best chance arrived when Pujara, on 58, chased an away-going delivery in Akhil’s second over but C Raghu, standing wide at first slip, fumbled an easy catch. The score was 148 and it proved to be a turning point as Pujara proceeded to seal Saurashtra’s victory.Kotak, who has built his reputation as a stonewaller by picking his runs in the brick-by-brick fashion, took the initiative in this innings, not hesitating to hook the fast bowlers. By the time Kotak departed, caught-and-bowled by C Raghu half an hour before tea, Saurashtra’s man Friday had virtually robbed Karnataka’s chances of winning.In walked Ravindra Jadeja – arms swinging, chest high, eager to finish the job. He pulled Aiyappa on arrival, and put the pressure back on the bowlers by pulling and sweeping Raghu for consecutive fours a couple of overs later. When Joshi returned for his second spell in the afternoon, Jadeja stepped out to club the veteran left-arm spinner over mid-off for another four, and later for a straight hit down the ground.Saurashtra went to tea requiring 105 runs in the remaining 32 overs. Pujara, who was subdued in the second session, returned with renewed vigour and Karnataka were fast receding against the agility of the 20-year-olds. Having pulled Vinay for another boundary to bring the target below the 100-mark, Jadeja cut Joshi for a four and then walked a single to long-on to complete a swift half-century. He was caught at point trying to slog-sweep Raghu, but Jaydev Shah carried forward the assault with a ruthless half-century of his own that included nine hits past the boundary and a six over widish long-on.Saurashtra will face Mumbai in the semi-final in Chennai, starting January 4.
